Pelhuaz Anniversary Celebration - IT'S TODAY!

So it's been a year since I started this adventure called Pelhuaz. IT's MY ANNIVERSARY... Wujuuuu! So let's Party!!!!!! 

Today is my turn to answer the fun interview questions. Today is a National Holiday so let's just add another reason to celebrate, shall we?

You had see me before, but just in case you forgot my face -this is me... All hair, glasses, and for two more months -belly.

Here are my answers to the weekly interview that I made to all my friends. It's about time that I did this!

Pelhuaz: What's your name?

Zei: Zeide but I go as Zei

Pelhuaz: Describe yourself in 5 words?

Zei: Orange, Tangled, Sarcastic, Momma & Happy

Pelhuaz: If you could sing one song on American Idol or any other TV Show, what would it be?

Zei: No rain by Blind Melons or Roam from The B52.

Pelhuaz: If you were on an island and could only bring 3 things, what would you bring?

Zei: My Surface with Internet, my knife, and a Hot Air Balloon - I can't stand being alone, so I need to get back to my family - ASAP. Using the Surface as GPS, I'll get there in no time.

Pelhuaz: If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?

Zei: I do a killer Quesadilla, but probably will do a local menu. Something like a Mofongo con Pollo a la Plancha y ensalada verde and the local beer - Medalla! (Mashed Plantains with Grilled Chicken and Green Salad) Yummy!

And in the evening, I'll prepare you a Kick-Ass Mojito with mint, black sugar, lemon juice and Bacardi (our local rum). Did I catch your attention? Yeah... I think I did... :D

Pelhuaz: If you were a Star Trek® [or Star Wars®] character, which one would it be?

Zei: From Star Trek, I'll be Uhura - the Communications Chief Officer. From Star Wars, I'll be Chewi. Have you seen my hair? :D Ohh and take a look at my T-Shirt - is him!

Pelhuaz: What is the last book you read?

Zei: Amor, curiosidad, prozac y dudas by Lucia Etxebarria. I loved it and was the reason I started writing in the first place.

Pelhuaz: What's your superpower?

Zei: My hair, as Medusa. 

Pelhuaz: Who do you consider your sidekick?

Zei: My hubby. He is and always be my partner in crime... But more than Super Heroes, we'll be Villains. :D

Pelhuaz: Tell us about your Small Business…Why did you decide to open Pelhuaz?

Zei: I always loved making crafts but most of all jewelry. I always wear my creations, and some friends asked me to do things for them. I give it a thought and took a leap of faith and created Pelhuaz by Red. At the beginning was only the name but after it got a little serious, and after researching what platform will do the trick, I decided to open my Storenvy Shop.  

Pelhuaz: What is your favorite item available at Pelhuaz? Provide a pic.

Zei: My long necklaces. I love the boho look they gave to any piece of clothing.

Pelhuaz: What do you wish you had known before you started?

Zei: That photos are the most important part of the store front.

Pelhuaz: When is your Store Anniversary?

Zei: TODAY! Cuajajajajaj!

Pelhuaz: Imagine that I’m planning to open Pelhuaz, and I don’t know a thing about managing a Small Business, what will be your best advice?

Zei: If I need to give an advice to the 1 year ago Zei, I would have to say that it takes time. "Girl, you need to focus on making your brand, making a strong backbone, and look for a Community that support you." At the beginning, I interacted with few nasty groups until I found "My people". :D And you know who you are! <3

Pelhuaz Exquisite Friend of the Week: Unique Creations by Tracy

Another Happy Thursday and another Exquisite Friend to be featured. I met Tracy thru the Crafty Community that I'm part of and as a Storenvy Colleague. Since day one, she's been so great with me that I adore her. She's part of "my person" team. I admire her so much, as she's an amazing artist and a Mom full of courage. 

So here's the Adorable Tracy -Queen of the Owls!  

Pelhuaz: What's your name?
Tracy: Tracy McDermott      

Pelhuaz: What's your superpower?

Tracy: Superspeed   

Pelhuaz: Who do you consider your sidekick?

Tracy: My daughter, Meredith would be my sidekick! Any time I need anything she is right there helping me out.  Biggest plus, is that she is super creative!  

Pelhuaz: If you were on an island and could only bring 3 things, what would you bring?

Tracy: A book, yarn, and chocolate 

Pelhuaz: What do you think about when you are alone in your car?

Tracy: I am rarely alone in the car but if I am alone I am thinking of everything I need to do.     

Pelhuaz: What was the last movie you went to see?

Tracy: Frozen            

Pelhuaz: Tell us about your Small Business… Describe your store and products?

Tracy: I own Unique Creations by Tracy where I sell items I crochet. I mainly make animals and monsters which make great stuffed animals or can be used in décor in nurseries and children's bedrooms. This year I have started a line of cute themed baskets which make for great storage for kids toys or to organize anything else you may need organize. This line will continue to grow with new animals and monsters. 

      

Pelhuaz: What is your favorite item available at your Shop?

Tracy: My Owls  

       

Pelhuaz: What motivates/inspires you?

Tracy: My kids inspire me! Many of the items I have made were from requests my children had for things they wanted me to make. Now the basket line is inspired by them in that they are need of cute and fun organization baskets to keep all their toys picked up. 

  

Pelhuaz: How much time off do you get/take?

Tracy: It varies week to week depending on my volunteer jobs.  

Pelhuaz: When is your Store Anniversary?

Tracy: Apr 28            

Pelhuaz: Imagine that I’m planning to open Pelhuaz, and I don’t know a thing about managing a Small Business, what will be your best advice?
Tracy: My first piece of advice is to research about starting a small business. There is a lot of great advice out there to make things a bit easier. Don't stress if you don't make sales right away, it takes a lot of time and work but it will happen.

I usually go around the store to pick my favorites. From Unique Creations by Tracy, is all the Cute Owls that she creates! She has a complete Collection dedicated to them. Eek!
