Random Thoughts... No one knows...

I like writing a lot. I do it as a therapy. Most of the time are romantic stories inspired in Vampires and Werewolf. In that way I can inflict pain to those who harm me without consequences :D Just kidding (well... not really!) Others, I just start writing what is on my mind and the feelings I'm experiencing in the moment. Those thoughts are transcript in Spanish -as is my first language.

Today, I would like to share one extract of a story with you. I'm gonna post it in Spanish and try my best to translate it, without loosing the feeling. I wasn't always a happy person. Back in my 20's, I suffered a lot from a toxic relationship I was in, and my way of healing from such an awful breakup was thru writing. Was the kind of break ups when you end up without a place to go and need to go back running to your family ashamed of your failures. Today, I'm graceful for that experience as it made me strong and worth-it of the happiness I'm living today. I'm a strong believer of cause and effect. If I haven't learned that lesson back then, my life today wouldn't be as fabulous as it is! So, I'm graceful for all the pain, the heartache, the betrayal... :D Yes I am!

This extract is from a story called "El diario de Sabrina" (Sabrina's Diary). This is a compilation of events that Sabrina lived and how she manage to survive. One night Sabrina was wondering what is love and how difficult is to have feeling for someone...

Two Sides: Trusting Through Despaiimage from: twosidesserenity.blogspot.com

Translation: No one knows what desire provokes, only those who lives it in their own flesh and bones. Who without having him around, recognizes his scent. No one understands the humiliation of the flesh, only those who wants the one that cannot have. No one recognizes how painful rejection is, only those who crawls on the floor begging for some attention. Who would do anything for crumbs of love. No one understands the meaning of another goodbye, only those who give up and decides to let it go away. Who has no desire to fight, those who lost everything, and tried to walk again. No one can define what are heavy or cloudy nights, only those who suffer in silence. The ones that would do anything to have one more night beside him. No one understands what the night screams, only those who refuses to listen. Who comes and goes from their sleeps, thinking only of his warm skin. No one recognizes the sincerity of the cold, or what living alone really means, only those who lick her wounds in silence. No one knows how to accept the pain, only those who push themselves to destruction –without any help. No one can pinpoint what lies are, or a broken heart, or a soaking face, only those who daydream with the impossible. Whoever sees him passed by her side with another love, and die inside. Only those who can perfectly describe his body, his eyes, his smile, his scent and skin - without being hers. The one who in silence has studied him. That would only take a second to recognize him, perfectly. The one that knows him from centuries ago. That before being mass, memory, and before... knows him. That needs no reason to think of him. Not knowing when it all began, as a revelation. And unknowingly trying to understands everything in his presence, while feeling exploding inside. The one that does not need an excuse. That with a single glance; she talks, caresses, kisses and invites. Those who feel the silence in the wind blowing. Those who feel “normal”. That if necessary, will speaks in another language to be understood and shout from the rooftops their feelings, no matter what people said. Sings, recites, dances, imagines; only for one night in his arms. Those who does not allow the pain to breaks their plans. Those who are not jealous, even when their love is in the arms of someone else. Those who are sure, that the moment is near. Those who knows that time is their best ally. Those who sees fairies over coffins. Those who gets drunk at night to not dream of him, without luck -because he lives in you. Those who does not see the end of something so beautiful, even without being initiated. Those that do not want to break the illusion that is only in only in their head. Those who tense the rope on their own neck. Who knows that life as it comes... goes. Those who knows that nobody holds the love in one place. That on the morning, the tranquility says nothing

Is a shame that I'm not that good of a translator, but I hope it doesn't lost the feeling of what I tried to expressed back then. Those were difficult moments, but I learned that everything happens for a reason... Today I'm living that "reason".

I wish you are happy and your life is full of joy. If for some reason you are experiencing a difficult moment, just be assure that everything goes away and you will only keep the memories and the lesson learned!

Pelhuaz Exquisite Friend of the Week: Little House of Crafting

Happy Anniversary Tony!

Today's post is dedicated to my fabulous geeky friend Toni and her Shop Little House of Crafting. She's celebrating her anniversary this month and we want to honor her! YAY! For us shop owners this milestone is very important as we know how difficult (but fun) the journey is and having another year ahead is very exciting.

So let's hear about Toni.

Pelhuaz: What's your name?
Toni: Toni Conn

Pelhuaz: Describe yourself in 5 words?
Toni: Nerd, geek, tea addict, maker

Pelhuaz: If you could sing one song on American Idol or any other TV Show, what would it be?
Toni: Tough choice! Probably "Let It Go". lol!

Pelhuaz: If you were on an island and could only bring 3 things, what would you bring?
Toni: Tea, books, laptop with unlimited battery life

Pelhuaz: If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
Toni: Yum-A-Setta. Ground beef, egg noodles, cheese, cream of chicken soup and tomato soup. It's delicious!

Pelhuaz: If you were a Star Trek® [or Star Wars®] character, which one would it be?
Toni: R2D2. Spunky but already there when you need me!

Pelhuaz: What is the last book you read?
Toni: That I finished? Umm..Mockingjay for the 3rd time.

Pelhuaz: Tell us about your Small Business… Why did you decide to open Little House of Crafting?
Toni: I decided to open my Little House of Crafting because I wanted to reach a market beyond anime conventions. I didn't want to limit myself and my products to just where I physically was on certain weekends of the year. I wanted to release my babies to the world!

Pelhuaz: What is your favorite item available at your shop?
Toni: My favorite item has to be my Tabletop Gamer pin. I love tabletop gaming but can't play it due to the time sink. Pokemon Tabletop Adventures is my favorite tabletop game!

Pelhuaz: What do you wish you had known before you started?
Toni: I wish I had known the kind of time management structure that is needed to run a small business. You're involved in social media very often and unless you set a timer or have a program to block those sites at certain times of the day you can get sucked in and not make anything by the end of the day!

Pelhuaz: When is your Store Anniversary?
Toni: May 13

Pelhuaz: Imagine that I’m planning to open Pelhuaz, and I don’t know a thing about managing a Small Business, what will be your best advice?
Toni: Get involved in a small business community. Running a small business can be lonely and you'll need the encouragement and the ability to encourage others on their journey! Oh My! Handmade and Facebook communities are a great start!

Toni and Little House of Crafting are the responsible for Pelhuaz' Pins. She's the Designated Pin Creator for almost every Storenvy Shop on our Community, and they all look awesome.

This is how awesome Toni is. You can ask her for a custom order and will be ready and fabulous in no time.

As part of her Anniversary Celebration, Toni is running an awesome giveaway at her blog until May 31. You have plenty of time to participate. Go to her blog and enjoy the gifts, as Pelhuaz and few others Shops are included at the giveaway.

Tutorial: Create a Cute Owl Desktop Holder with Recycle Items

I thought that this will be a fun activity to do with your kids on a Saturday. A while back, my Little Princess had an assignment of bringing something to school that she made with  recycle materials. We decided for a cute pencil display that her teacher kept.

Is a very fun activity to do with your little ones and the outcomes are fabulous. This project took us few day, as we're doing it in the afternoons, after school -that's the reason the models hair has a mind of their own on the pictures.

Take a look at our project's final result. Fabulous, right? Well, lets do this...

Materials:

Paint
5 empty bottles of water
1 carton for sodas (the one's that the fast foods handed when carry-out)
Ribbon or the decoration of your preference.

What to do?

Step 1:

Cut the top part of one of the water bottles as showed. Just the perfect amount to leave part of the narrow area.

Step 2:

Make sure you have the proper colors, before start to paint.

Step 3:

Paint the bottle, keeping in mind that this will be the owl's body.

Step 4:

As I have not talent (what-so-ever) drawing, we asked Daddy to draw the owl's silhouette.

Proceed with painting it after the base color is dry (to avoid a mess).

Step 5:

Paint the face details.

Step 6:

Use the carton cup holder and put your painted owl in the middle of it.

Use the other 4 bottles and cut it by the length that you prefer.

We decided for 2 pencil holders and 2 clip or tiny things holder.

Paint them and wait until they are dry for decoration.

Step 7:

Decorate and enjoy!

If you decide to make this fun project, I would love if you share it with us. Feel free to leave your comments and suggestions.

Don't forget that you still have time to participate at Violet's Buds Fun Giveaway. Will run until midnight!

Enjoy your Saturday!

Un beso,
Zei

Pelhuaz Exquisite Friend of the Week: Violet's Buds

Melanie is in the category of one of "My favorite person". She's a very dear friend that helps me A LOT. Is an honor for me to have her as part of my Exquisite Friends and happy to dedicate a post to her and her amazing shop.

I'm a return customer, so I can assure you over the quality of her products and the exquisiteness of her designs. My girl is crazy with her hair pins and she is the cutest ballerina due to her fabulous clips.

Melanie is so talented that she has a variety of products to offer. She also made me a fabulous hoop for my Tinkering Room.

She knows that I love orange, so she did a fabulous job here. Melanie granted me this interview and I would love to share it with you, as I know you gonna love her and her products, as much as I do!

Let me present you my beautiful friend Melanie, and her adorable (and always happy) girl!

Pelhuaz: What's your name?
Melanie: Melanie

Pelhuaz: What's your superpower?
Melanie: Being a mother is a superpower, right?

Pelhuaz: Who do you consider your sidekick and why?
Melanie: My husband is my sidekick. Well, he's more like the superhero and I'm the sidekick, but I'm ok with that!

Pelhuaz: If you were on an island and could only bring 3 things, what would you bring
Melanie: Endless Dr Pepper, my crafting supplies, and my laptop with a magical battery that never dies (the island was wifi, right?)

Pelhuaz: What do you think about when you are alone in your car?
Melanie: I'm usually busy singing to the radio or my cds of 90's music. If I am thinking of anything its usually about what errands I need to accomplish.

Pelhuaz: What was the last movie you went to see?
Melanie: The last movie I saw in theaters was Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

Pelhuaz: Tell us about your Small Business…  Describe your store and products?
Melanie: Violet's Buds is the place for handmade accessories for you and your little flower. I create hair accessories for all ages, plus special occasion pieces for weddings, prom, new moms, and maternity sashes upon request. Recently, I've added a line of handmade hoop art. I love turning fabric flowers into home decor!
Violet's Buds items are unique in that the majority of the fabrics used are either remnants, or are upcycled from clothing & linens. Beads, pendants, & buttons in Violet's Buds accessories and art come from old & sometimes broken costume jewelry, old clothing, or scouted out at flea markets. Also, plan to spend as much time, if not more, on the marketing, advertising and promotion of your shop as you do the creating. Social media is a key tool in meeting and interacting with potential customers.

Pelhuaz: What is your favorite item available at your store?
Melanie: I'm obsessed with hoop art at the moment.

Pelhuaz: What motivates/inspires you?
Melanie: I am inspired by my daughter, nature, and the craft supplies I come across. I find that I am always inspired to create after a crafting date with my maker friends.

Pelhuaz: How much time off do you get/take in a week?
Melanie: Time off? what's that? I work when I can around my preschooler's schedule.

Pelhuaz: When is your Store Anniversary?
Melanie: March 01

Pelhuaz: Imagine that I’m planning to open Pelhuaz, and I don’t know a thing about managing a Small Business, what will be your best advice?
Melanie: First, know that you aren't alone. We all struggle to get started, and keep going. I would highly recommend finding a community of like-minded crafters, either online or in person, to become a part of. It is so important to have a good support system with people that will build you up, allow you to bounce ideas around, and have fun.

As I normally do, I looked around Violet's Buds Shop and picked my favorites:

I love coffee and so is tea. This Tea Time Hoop Art is a must have.

This Rainbow Pattern Flower Hair Clip is so colorful, perfect for Spring.

The Blue Sky Bobby Pin Set is so adorable. Love the pattern.

In order to share the love Melanie and I would like to giveaway until Saturday May 17 at 11:59PM for 2 lucky winners some fabulous prizes. The winners will be posted on Monday, May 19 post. (Only 1 price per winner)
